Just a little bit about me….okay a lot, but I promise I am leaving stuff out and I will do my best not to bore you.
My husband, Quintin and I have been married 8 incredible years and we are the proud parents of a handsome young boy ‘Tyler’ & a beautiful little princess ‘Sarah’. My kids really are the most amazing little people I have ever known. Maybe, I am just a little biased.
Quintin is my rock, my best friend and my partner in life. He always said he was attracted to me because of my ambition and motivation, but I am not sure he really knew what he was getting into. The life of an entrepreneur can be tiring and challenging with failures liberally woven in. But it can also be extremely rewarding and fulfilling in so many ways. I am so grateful to have such wonderful support from my family.
They say laughter is good for the soul….. I hope you just had a good one.
Now, I would like to share just a little about my mission if you don’t mind.
My life’s journey is to help educate and mentor others for success which I find extremely satisfying and rewarding. I want to be a good role model for my children and leave a legacy they can be proud of. I want to make a difference in the lives of others and in my community. I want to inspire and help others to achieve their goals and dreams. The most important contribution I want to make is to help others gain financial freedom and a better quality of life.
I will strive to incorporate the following attributes into my life:
- A strong work ethic, perseverance, an attitude of persistence
- Great leader, speaker and motivator
- The ability to enjoy the little things, have fun and love unconditionally
I will constantly renew myself by focusing on the four dimensions of my life:
- The Physical through healthy eating and exercise
- The Spiritual through prayer
- The Mental through continuous education, helping others, mentoring, growing and learning
- The Emotional through spending quality time with friends and family and traveling
Are you ready for my life story?
Just kidding. I will give you some of the story. The business part leading up to now.
I had been selling real estate for several years, until I had my first child October 2003. I just could not justify driving strangers around, hoping for a sale, when my beautiful baby was at home. I decided I needed a home based business that would let me stay home with my child.
So, I started an Internet Marketing business in 2004 where I sold postal shipping scales and labels through eBay and then later sold through a website. The decisions I made and the risks I took thankfully paid off. My first year in business, I grossed over $517,000 in sales. Not bad, huh? I consider this one of my best success stories, yet. I did this for several years until the market changed. I decided to phase out eBay and only sell shipping labels on my website which I still do today.
In May 2006, my husband, the Engineer, decided he wanted to start a business too. I nearly had a heart attack because my 2nd child was only 6 weeks old. I took a deep breath. My husband had always supported my dreams and I knew it was time for me to support his which was ‘to quit his job’. Plus I was a risk taker. I blame my father.
In September 2006, we opened the doors to our electrical contracting business. We worked like mad every day and night. We were the chiefs, cooks, and bottle washers. Oh yeah, we had 2 guys doing the electrical work.
The hard work and long hours paid off because we won a big contract for an extension on Dania Beach city hall in their first year of business as well as several others. We expanded our business and managed to generate $715,000 in gross revenue for 2007. Circumstances changed, however, and we decided to transition out of the day to day operations in May 2008. My father and brother took over the business are still running it today.
In 2007, while still running 2 businesses and raising two small children. I began educating myself in the financial field. I acquired a series 65 license, a life insurance license and then became an independent Financial Representative.
What was I thinking? Just call me Superwoman!
Seriously, I was thinking that I may be a good idea to know a thing or two about money if I wanted to get close to my goal of financial independence. I learned some amazing financial concepts and strategies that have made a huge impact on my finances. I recruited, trained and developed a sales and marketing team. I held educational seminars for clients and training seminars for my team. I became a mentor, leader, speaker and motivator. It was a tremendous educational experience where I grew professionally and personally. I also realized that my calling was to work in this capacity as a team with other likeminded and ambitious entrepreneurs.
But then I woke up one day and realized I had gotten off track.
I wanted to get back home with my children, so I decided to build a home based business again. The kind where you don’t have to run all over town and you can actually work it in your PJ’s.
I had some success on the internet with e-commerce, but I did not want to ship packages every day and answer crazy emails again. I had tried some drop shippers and found that to be a hassle. Affiliate marketing looked good and I knew e-commerce was huge, but I was not interested in all the back end work. I knew it would take time to create a website, make all the affiliate agreements, manage commissions, software development, accounting etc. not to mention the financial investment it would require.
Then something interesting happened in September 2008. One of my financial colleagues told me about a cutting edge company on the internet that was partnered with Fortune 500 retail stores and that they had an affiliate program already in place. The company was not like any other I had seen on the internet because they also had a niche centered on eco-friendly products. They had an entire ‘Earth’ side which now carries over 16,000 products that promote healthy living.
The company offered a turnkey website that would not require me to keep inventory and I would never have to ship again. It was everything I wanted practically handed to me on a silver platter and the cost was ridiculous. Almost nothing. I jumped in with in both feet and never looked back. It has been an incredible journey thus far and I have grown a tremendous amount both personally and professionally due to the training, support and mentorship. The company continues to improve, surprise and excite me. They urged all of us to embrace social media, which I reluctantly did the beginning of 2009.
I am so thankful I did because it has truly been amazing to meet and exchange ideas with people all over the world. I have been learning and implementing social media marketing, article marketing, and video marketing to brand myself and build credibility on the internet. I share all of my knowledge and expertise with others who want to learn and through this process.
I have been able to combine my passion for finance with my life’s mission by educating others on how to save money, save time and improve their quality of life. I am truly grateful for the life I lead, the wonderful people in it and the joy I feel each and every day.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if you think I can help you in any way.
