Our company makes software for video-conferencing and collaboration that runs on PCs and delivers a like you-are-there experience. Having this type of tool in place enables sales people to travel less, knowledge workers to telecommute, executives to stay plugged in to their groups and pull together the best people for a task regardless of where they are physically located. It is a new way of thinking about the organization, but one that uses technology to do the traveling. It is easier on the employees and easier on the Earth ! We make kitchens and its quite usual for scrap bits of timber and boad to get thrown away. It has been quite a learning curve to get the guys to save the off cuts for another job but we are getting there.
